Commerz Real has successfully commissioned the Amance solar park in eastern France for its Klimavest fund. Construction of the photovoltaic power plant near the city of Troyes in the Aube department was completed on schedule in September, and the solar park is now feeding solar-generated electricity into the French grid. The 47-megawatt-peak facility, which covers an area of 42 hectares, can in theory meet the average energy consumption of around 11,000 French households.¹

Klimavest acquired the ready-to-build PV park in March 2025 from the renewable energy company BayWa r.e. who developed and constructed it. The on-time commissioning highlights the successful collaboration between Commerz Real and the experienced project developer, who will also assume the technical and commercial operation of the park. In the coming weeks BayWa r.e. will conduct extensive test runs to ensure optimal coordination of all components and thus maximize the electricity yield.

The scheduled commissioning of the Amance solar park confirms our strategy of investing in mature projects with reliable partners. France has proven to be a reliable market for renewable energy investments with attractive conditions.

The PV park will also serve as grazing land for a local sheep farmer. Even before construction began, a suitable seed mix was sown following consultation with the farmer and an agricultural expert from BayWa r.e. The shade cast by the first installed modules allowed lush pasture to thrive during the summer months – something that would not have been possible with direct sunlight at this time of year. Commerz Real and BayWa r.e. are also providing the farmer with water troughs, fencing and vehicles to manage the land. In return, the farmer and his flock will take care of vegetation management at the site.

With the new solar park Klimavest is expanding its diversified portfolio of renewable energy assets in Europe. The fund currently manages assets worth around €1.7 billion, including more than 40 wind and solar investments across six countries, as well as holding a stake in the German transmission system operator Amprion. Klimavest enables private investors to invest in the energy transition in a diversified manner and benefit from the transformation of Europe’s energy supply.
