Sebastian Herkner furnishes complete apartment in One Forty West for the first time

Frankfurt am Main, July 8, 2020 - Sebastian Herkner has furnished a complete apartment in Frankfurt's One Forty West for the first time. He is thus continuing his cooperation with the developer Commerz Real, which he began a year ago. The internationally renowned product designer has been acting as brand ambassador for the 140-metre high-rise residential and hotel complex in Frankfurt's Senckenberg quarter since February 2019. For the 80-square-metre two-room apartment on the 25th floor with a view of Frankfurt's skyline, he chose a combination of creations for well-known brands such as &Tradition, Freifrau, B&B Italia, Menu, Moroso, Thonet and Pulpo, as well as his world-famous Bell Coffee Table, designed for Classicon in 2012, that was specifically tailored to the architecture and surroundings of the building. Still relatively new and therefore less well known are his works for the Kaufmann ceramic manufactory. For the shower tiles at One Forty West he used the model Set.

"I want to create an atmosphere of space, architecture and interior design," Herkner explains. "In every piece of furniture, every design element you can find my striving for the highest craftsmanship, quality and functionality." So he relies on authentic materials and the use of a lot of color and textures. For the development of his interior concept, he was also inspired by the location and room architecture as well as the light at height. "I was concerned with the overall mood, not with its individual parts," says Herkner. "In the end, I succeeded in making all the elements work together to create an effect and create a home". In addition to his creations, Herkner chose a matching kitchen from Bulthaup and bathroom fittings from Vola.

The One Forty West is to house a 4-star-plus hotel of the Meliá brand with 430 rooms (up to 23rd floor) and 187 rental and owner-occupied apartments (24th to 40th floor) on 41 floors and an area of 52,000 square meters.
