Niam acquires office property in Helsinki from Commerz Real’s hausInvest

The open-ended real estate fund hausInvest of Commerz Real has sold the property “Life Science Center Keilaniemi” which it had acquired in 2009. The office complex is located in Keilaniemi, a business district to the west of Helsinki and close to Keilaniemi metro station in Espoo, and has a total lettable area of approx. 32,000 square metres. It comprises five interlinked buildings and is leased to approx. 93 per cent to users from the information technology and biotechnology sectors. The buyer is the Nordic real estate private equity company Niam. It has been agreed that confidentiality be maintained on the purchase price.

Johan Bergman, Niam CEO, says, “We are confident that the Helsinki office market is a very attractive investment market that will continue to improve. This property is an excellent addition to Niam’s existing office portfolio in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area, comprising 22 properties and 200,000 sqm in total. Niam’s active asset management approach will add further value to the asset.”
